So you've probably seen the Tickle Me Elmo toy in the past, hang in here with me on this one.
I have to say that I'm so thankful for God's joy. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've been so full of it that I've laughed out loud uncontrollably. Much like this Elmo toy is in the video clip. I thought this video was great representation of the kind of joy I'm talking about. Something wonderful happens when God reaches down and tickles our hearts. I just watch this clip and it makes me laugh. It's a great illustration of the kind of joy that is contagious - and makes your belly hurt from laughing so much. Consider if that Elmo toy was you for a moment. I'm convinced every day should have a little laughter in it. Furthermore, I'm believing that more of God's joy will fill our home in 2010. I myself want to move beyond being happy into more joyous living.
Who couldn't use a little extra joy to get through the hard times? Nehemiah talked about it in chapter eight verse ten. (you'll have to read the whole chapter for further background as to why this was important to the people in this message.)
from the Message Bible: 10 He continued, "Go home and prepare a feast, holiday food and drink; and share it with those who don't have anything: This day is holy to God. Don't feel bad. The joy of God is your strength!"
I hope this leaves you laughing right where you are :-) Have a great weekend!
