Here's the scoop, since I began blogging and reading other blogs I noticed other blogs with great looking easy to read layouts. I've been desiring a new blog look for a few months now. My free blog design from Cutest Little Blog on the Block was great, just not exactly what I wanted. I won't go into all the reasons why here.
Recently I discovered pre-made designs!! These are what I call middle of the road designs because of the cost factor. Though most pre-made designs are available for purchase its no where near the cost of a custom listing. The look and the price was right for me. Now I have a fresh new look for spring and onward.
How a pre-made works is a designer will post a design that in most cases may not be edited (with exception of headder) for a small fee. In my case [as with most] installation was left up to me. It can be a scary thing. I will admit I was a tad bit nervous. Using programs like photobucket.com I was able to customize my headder with my blog's title.
From there I made my own signature and upload it for future postings. (same program) In addition I had to cut and paste all my widget codes and add them after the initial pre-made installation. I strongly recommend you back up your blog's code prior to the initial installation. I'm still learning all these little techy things so bear with me. I'm not a computer / code geek by any means.
For me the pre-made blog design was a win, win. I didn't want to pay a lot for a new look. Nor did I want to wait for the process and hand over my password etc. Yes it took some time but, hey I'm learning in the process.
I'm sure there are others but, here are a few places where you can brows pre-made blog designs if it's of interest to you. I went with Delicious Designs (just love the name). They had what I was generally looking for. Prices start at just $10.00. I got the code right away and was able to upload my new design with in minutes. (Well for me it was more like 30 min while nursing). Delicious Designs provided a short how to video clip with full step by step instructions. They provide designs for both Blogger and Wordpress platforms.

I hope this new blog design makes reading my blog more enjoyable. Well it should be easier to read being that the layout is much larger in the main frame where my postings show up. If you run into any problems on your viewing end, please let me know so I may look into resolution. This being said, I do have tired eyes lately being that we are still short on sleep. So please excuse the grammar & spelling and grace me on those things. he he

Wow, good for you! You've done a great job! Very clean, easy to read design. And you made your OWN header...that's so cool!
I have no skillz whatsoever. I found Designer Blogs back in the fall and they had a really good rate then ($40). I don't know about now. I too have debated changing up my blog. It's hard because I get compliments on mine, but yet sometimes I want a more clean, contemporary look. Plus, I don't exactly get paid to blog, so I can't let this hobby cost too much!
My New one came from Leelou. I love it. It will be staying for now. I use to actually code my own designs but When My computer crashed I lost my PSP and cant find the disc now that we moved so I went the freebies and premade :)
It looks great!! I LOVE it!!!
It's very nice. Pretty, clutter-free and easy on the eyes.
