Why talk about "Mama Guilt," you ask? Because I think it’s good to share our Mama Guilt so we know we are not alone. We all struggle in this wonderful, chaotic, ever challenging thing called motherhood! See the Linky at the bottom of this post to link up or visit CopMama.

Here’s today’s optional prompt:
Hand-me Downs, Thrift Stores, & Garage Sales for YOUR Kid's Clothes? What's YOUR Secret?
Hand raised high. I'm so guilty of putting my kids in hand-me-downs. In fact I'm not shy about it at all. If I may boast in the Lord for a moment; for the first two years my daughter sported used clothing. When it was time to swap out her clothes b/c they didn't fit her anymore I would wonder if it was time to buy? Just than right on time someone would ask if I needed clothing for Princess. It was always the sizes we needed forthcoming. Oh and she was super darling. Most of the clothing was gently used so no one really new the difference. This was fabulous for me and The Mr. simply because we didn't need to buy her clothing or shoes for two years. We were given clothing by the garbage bag, after garbage bag full. We have in turn passed them along to others in need so they could reap the blessing.
Now that we have a son, we couldn't exactly put J in pink. I prayed that God would show himself strong and provide in the same way for our son. Well God is faithful!! A friend had a son who was one year old to the day. We laugh that our sons share the same birthday. As you probably guessed it ~ she passes along all her son's clothing to us for baby J. We had others who had offered to give us clothing ~ of course we accepted. We had so many baby clothes that we had to start sharing them with others because we had to many. Thankfully we have clothing coming for baby J on a regular basis.
So I'm positively guilty of putting my kids in hand-me-downs and I have no shame in it. Hey, my take is they grow so fast why spend $$ on clothes if we don't have to. Thank you Jesus! I will say that if we were not given the clothing I would be browsing the isles of discount thrift stores. I even do this for myself. I'm all for sharing clothes and passing them around. It's a win, win for everybody.

I was the first sibling and friend to have a baby, so neither of my sisters or friends had baby clothes to share. But like you mentioned on my post...when they finally have kids I'll be able to share with them! :)
