Wives Behind the Badge

I wanted to spotlight something near and dear to my heart fresh in the new year. Being the wife of a cop I was thrilled to know there was an organization for wives of law enforcement officers. Yep, that's right! The Wives Behind the Badge is a non-profit organization that always needs support in aiding those in need behind the badge.

Even if you are not "behind the badge" there are many ways to contribute and extend a hand ~ be a part of something big. No pressure here. You either want to or don't want to. I was never good at selling Girl Scout cookies back in the day. Kinda figured they'd sell themselves LOL. My sales tactics have not really improved over the years so if you are interested keep reading. I've listed a few ways you can contribute and extend a hand. Even get some cool stuff for yourself :-)

About Wives Behind the Badge

Simply put, Wives Behind the Badge is an all-volunteer national non-profit organization that provides resources, emotional support and essential benefits to law enforcement families.

1. You can make a donation of any amount by clicking HERE.

2. Or you can shop HERE. The proceeds of the Cafe Press shop go towards helping the law enforcement community and their H.A.L.O.S. [Helping Aid Lost Officers Survivors] condolence card program. (Custom orders welcome)

3. Buy a cookbook HERE. They always make great gifts.

4. Or buy a 2011 Puppies Behind the Badge calender by clicking HERE. The proceeds from each calendar purchase go to the W.B.T.B. scholarship program which was created to help the families of our nation's law enforcement officers by providing financial assistance for their higher education. The program enables spouses and children of officers to complete their educational goals and better their future opportunities.

5. Rally up Community Support. This could be your local P.D., a business etc. Will involve some creativity and huge harts. I know some business look for opportunities to donate and this would be a great opportunity! Get the wheels turning by clicking HERE.

I'm a proud supporter of Wives Behind the Badge! I purchased a T-shirt & LOVE it. The Mr. says it's a cute little number on me :-) I'm sure we'll be getting more. They have great gift ideas in the shop too.

~One last thing~ if you're a praying kinda gal like me, PRAY for our Law Enforcement Officers and their families. Matthew 5:9 reads, 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. That's a verse that's stapled on our hearts around here.

Oh I almost forgot, check out Wives Behind the Badge's blog HERE

In the area that I live we (wives) have put together an association. Any wife in our spouse's district can be included. We (wives) offer support for police families in need. We also support each other emotional and when need arises we help out financially. We hold different events to help a family. Blood drives, walks, sales etc. God bless you and I am sending up prayers too.
Blessings,

Bren

Perfect scripture! I'm glad there's an organization out there like this. It is so important that the wives of officers get support too. They go through a lot.

Ok, so what about my hubby...is there a "Husbands behind the badge"??? :-)
